Two Opensource Projects to Improve SSI in Midwifery
We intend to bridge the gap for developers and improve the foundation for our future work regarding strengthening midwifery and reducing maternal mortality.
We desire to fund our work with the help of the Cardano Catalyst community within the Atala Prism challenge.
Receiving funding from Catalyst would enable us to create a community participation reward program.
Below is a short overview of these two libraries and the roadmap, which will be updated.
eIDAS connector language library
eIDAS specifies a base schema and an extended schema standard to address DIDs when communicating with domestic service providers such as hospitals.
We will research the translations for the administrative languages for each EU country and create an entry in our JSON library for it. Some countries might have more than one official language so we will find and implement those differences as well.
If the solution would not be implemented, each developer would have to reinvent the wheel, which would be very inefficient and prone to errors.
The solution is for the broader SSI - world and usable as a universal library.
We have recently become a contributing member of the ToIP, and have joined their working groups (Technology Stack, Ecosystem Foundry WG) to discuss and promote the library.
We hope that everyone interested in developing solutions working with DIDs across the EU will find this library easy to implement.

Global Birth Certificate library
Not all countries have an established governmental birth certification process (GBCP), some countries do not even provide birth certificates.
The technical roll-out of electronic DIDs and their connection to birth certificates is still in its infancy, so we are providing the foundation to build upon.
- We will address these issues by
focusing on countries where a GBCP is well known and established (e.g. Western countries are low-hanging fruits) - researching how other countries may have established a different process, circumvented identity management, or don't have identity management (which will also be important information for identity projects)
